GTA 6 radio stations: the six Rockstar has confirmed

Six, so far: Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics. Rockstar added a music section to the official GTA VI site on 8 October 2026 with a playable preview of each, and that is the first time the company has named any station itself.

Everything else you will read today is a leak. That distinction is the whole point of this page, because most of the lists currently ranking for this query mix the two without telling you which is which — several were written before Rockstar said anything at all and still describe V-Rock as the only “confirmed” station.

The six confirmed stations

Read first-hand from rockstargames.com/VI/music at 04:05 UTC on 9 October 2026.

Station Hosts What it plays
Cocoteo FM El Martillo and La Gata Modern Latin — “el party que nunca se apaga”
Back Country Radio MW and Delta Dawne “Airboat-ready renegade country”
AfroBank FM Burna and Palmsy Amapiano, African classics, 3-step
The Chamber DJ Kerry and DJ Tom Metal
Flash FM Robyn and Alex Pop — “the Vice City institution”
Dirty South Classics Trick and Trina Regional rap and hip-hop classics

Flash FM’s billing as a Vice City institution is Rockstar’s own wording, which makes it the one station the company has explicitly confirmed as a returning one.

Each preview carries three tracks, eighteen in all, interleaved with DJ idents:

Station Tracks previewed
Cocoteo FM “EoO” (Bad Bunny) · “Si Es Trucho Es Trucho (Remix)” (Axel Rulay ft. Farruko & El Alfa) · “Canalla” (Romeo Santos & El Chaval de la Bachata)
Back Country Radio “Need a Little Time Off for Bad Behavior” (David Allan Coe) · “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’” (Loretta Lynn) · “The Conversation” (Hank Williams, Jr. & Waylon Jennings)
AfroBank FM “Joha” (Asake) · “Gye Wani” (Pat Thomas ft. Ebo Taylor) · “Shay’sana” (DJ Lag & Robot Boii ft. Kamo Mphela)
The Chamber “I” (Black Sabbath) · “I’m Broken” (Pantera) · “Raining Blood” (Slayer)
Flash FM “Good Ones” (Charli xcx) · “Electric Feel” (MGMT) · “Midnight Sun (Girls Trip)” (Zara Larsson & PinkPantheress)
Dirty South Classics “Like A Pimp” (David Banner ft. Lil’ Flip) · “Who Dat” (JT Money ft. Solé) · “Born N Raised” (DJ Khaled ft. Trick Daddy, Rick Ross & Pitbull)

What is not confirmed

Six is not the lineup. Rockstar’s own page says GTA VI spans “stations dedicated to everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio” — neither of which is among the six — and describes the selection as the “biggest and widest-ranging” in the series. So there are more, and nobody outside Rockstar knows how many.

Eleven further station names are circulating, compiled by Kotaku from gameplay leaks and trailers: Kaleidoscope FM, Worldwide FM, Emotion 98.3, Radio ON-U, Symphony FM, V-Rock, Stockyard FM, Circo Loco Records Radio, The Wipe, La Ola and Vice City FM. None of these is confirmed by Rockstar. Some are plausible — Emotion 98.3 and V-Rock are Vice City originals and Flash FM’s return shows Rockstar is willing to revive them — but plausible is not announced, and a leaked station can be cut before launch like any other asset.

One more detail, reported rather than read by us: Rockstar says that for the first time in the series players will be able to listen to the radio on foot through Jason and Lucia’s phones, alongside a set of on-demand podcasts (Kotaku, 8 October, 14:29 UTC). Rockstar’s music page confirms the podcasts exist; the “first time” framing is the company’s, via that report.

Who is actually listening

Here is the part no outlet covering this reveal can do, and it complicates the obvious reading of that lineup.

We count every live Grand Theft Auto stream on Kick, Twitch and YouTube once a minute. At 04:01:42 UTC on 9 October 2026 there were 235,892 people watching across 1,894 channels, and the language the stream was broadcast in was known for 99.94% of them.

Language Viewers Share Channels
English 134,313 56.94% 1,061
Spanish 50,205 21.28% 242
Portuguese 24,257 10.28% 404
Arabic 14,761 6.26% 28
Thai 5,189 2.20% 32
French 3,485 1.48% 44
German 1,340 0.57% 26
Hindi 1,262 0.53% 4
Russian 622 0.26% 26

Spanish and Portuguese together are 31.57% of the live GTA audience at that hour — nearly a third. Cocoteo FM squarely serves the first. Nothing in the six serves the second: there is no Brazilian station among them, and not one of the eighteen previewed tracks is by a Brazilian artist. Portuguese also has the second-largest number of channels of any language here, 404 of them, more than Spanish’s 242 — a lot of broadcasters, each with a smaller audience.

That is an observation about six stations out of an unknown total, not a verdict on the soundtrack. The full lineup may well cover it, and Rockstar says it has more to share.

The audience is not the same audience six hours later

Now the honest complication, which turns out to be the more interesting finding.

There is no such thing as the GTA audience language mix. It rotates with the planet. Our digest from 09:59 UTC on 8 October — a different hour, the daily trough, 65,164 viewers across 1,211 channels — ranks the same languages in a nearly unrecognisable order.

The GTA audience speaks a different language depending on the hour The GTA audience changes language around the clock Share of live GTA viewers by stream language, at two times of day 04:02 UTC, 9 Oct — 235,892 viewers 09:59 UTC, 8 Oct — 65,164 viewers 0% 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% English 56.94% 40.64% Spanish 21.28% 0.83% Portuguese 10.28% 1.92% Arabic 6.26% 12.04% Thai 2.20% 24.40% Russian 0.26% 6.20%
Spanish is more than a fifth of the GTA audience at 04:00 UTC and under one per cent at 10:00 UTC. Thai does the reverse.

Thai goes from 2.20% to 24.40% — fifth place to second. Spanish goes from 21.28% to 0.83%, second to seventh. Russian, a rounding error in the first reading, is 6.20% in the second.

This is a time-zone effect, not a mystery: 04:00 UTC is late evening in the Americas, and 10:00 UTC is the middle of the Asian afternoon with the Americas asleep. The whole category shrinks from 235,892 to 65,164 as it rotates. But the consequence is real for anyone designing for this audience. A radio lineup is shipped once and heard by all of them; the question “who is this for” has a different answer depending on which hour you sample, and any single-census claim about the GTA audience’s language — including the one in the table above — is a claim about that hour.

We have measured this flip before, in what language do GTA streamers speak, and it has not gone away.

Did the reveal move the numbers?

No — and that is now the third time we have measured a non-video GTA VI announcement and found nothing.

The Newswire post went up shortly before 14:29 UTC on 8 October, the timestamp on the earliest outlet coverage we can find. Comparing each hour of that day against the mean for the same hour across the previous thirty days, the ten hours following the reveal ran 11.1% below baseline, and the day as a whole averaged 268,221 against a 30-day mean of 290,305. Nothing resembling a spike.

That matches what we found when Game Informer’s cover feature landed in September and when the soundtrack artwork appeared: text, images and now audio previews do not move live viewership, while the 27 August video did, roughly tripling it. Six playable station previews are a lot of content, and the live audience did not react to them at all.

The honest limit on that. We cannot say the reveal depressed anything either — the category has been unwinding since the RP Week Drops ended on 30 September, and the 8th sits in an ordinary range for its own week. And the method is blunt: ordinary hour-to-hour variation in our 30-day window has a standard deviation of 0.18, so anything smaller than roughly a third would be invisible to it. A real but modest lift would not show up here, and we would not claim it had.

What this page does not show

We measure people watching GTA streams, not people playing the game, and stream language is the broadcaster’s language rather than the audience’s — a Spanish-language stream has viewers who do not speak Spanish. Country labels are published for only 1.3% of viewers, far too few to say anything about geography directly, which is why language is the instrument here. The two readings above are one census each, six hours apart on different days; the 04:00 figures held steady across a confirming census ten minutes later, so the swing between them is the clock and not noise, but two points are two points. And the 30-day creator board cannot be used as a cross-check on language share at all — it is a top-100 of channels, dominated by a handful of very large Arabic broadcasters, so it answers a different question than the census does.

You can watch the language mix rotate yourself on the live board or filter it by language, which is a more honest way to read the table above than trusting any single hour of it.
